Spring Season Cancellation & Refunding Option

I hope this message finds you and your family safe and that you are still finding effective ways to get through this challenging time.

After much deliberation, the Broken Arrow Soccer Club Executive Board made the difficult decision to terminate the remainder of the spring season for its members. We reviewed a range of factors from COVID-19, the heightened risk of player injuries from a compressed schedule, the unsurety of soccer referee availability, and a survey of our teams that showed most coaches either don't have enough players to field a team or would have minimum numbers to play. This means all Broken Arrow teams will not complete the spring season regardless of league.

For teams that want to practice this summer or play in tournaments, beginning May 15th you can practice under social distancing guidelines.

Regarding refunds, the Executive Board has been busy putting together a plan for the membership. With the suspension of the season occurring 2 weeks into the season many costs were already incurred, and the club continues to incur certain fixed costs. The club has eliminated all non-essential spending and because of this crisis, also reduced its staff and significantly cut hours for remaining employees to curtail costs. With registration fees accounting for the majority of BASC's funding, the Board has balanced the desire to provide refunds with the necessity to keep BASC functional until soccer resumes.


The refund plan consists of two options:

  1. The first option is to opt-in by May 31st for a $70 refund by completing the form at this link. Please save the email that your form completion generates. This option is available to any regular registrants of the club. Players that received a scholarship are not eligible for this option.
  2. The second option is to donate your refund to the club. If this crisis has not severely impacted your finances or you want to make a difference for the club, you can make a difference by donating your refund to our 501c3 non-profit organization. This will provide additional stability for our club in this uncertain time. Any members that do not request the refund by May 31st at midnight, will have their refund donated to the club.

Moving funds or crediting monies for the fall soccer season is not an option due to the complexities in the system. In regards to the refund, due to the manual process to transact refunds in the system, the club is requesting your patience. This could require nearly 2,000 individual transactions. Due to the sheer volume and limited staff, we commit to having all refunds processed by June 30th. Lastly, fall 2020 soccer registration will begin May 25th. Please sign up early. We appreciate your understanding of this challenge and look forward to soccer soon.
